Every year we walk the streets of Fareham and Portchester during December escorting Father Christmas around to put a smile on the children’s faces.

To ensure that as many children as possible can see Santa, comply with social distancing and protect Santa and the elves at Fareham Lions we are introducing the following:

<p><strong>Rules for the route:</strong></p><ul><li>All elves and Santa will have their temperature taken at the start of each route to be allowed to take part. Face coverings will be worm.</li><li>Elves are not allowed to knock on doors this year. So keep an eye out for the sleigh.</li><li>Elves will have large buckets to enable people to make donations or you can <a href="http://www.farehamlions.club/donation/">donate safely online</a>.</li><li>Children can see Santa from windows, doors, gates and footpaths <em>(as long as there is more than 2 metres between the Sleigh and themselves)</em></li></ul><p>We are unable to do static displays at supermarkets this year due to their social distancing requirements.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><strong><em>We are not able to any other route this year</em></strong></p>

At the same time we raise money in our collection boxes for local people and organisations. We also raise for major projects and disasters, both national and international.
We spend Tuesday to Saturday evenings around the communities, based in Portchester shopping centre on a Saturday morning and will be outside The Highlands Hub on one day after school.
It takes a lot of hard work to organise the collections and it requires a lot of people to make it happen. If you have some time and would like to volunteer to help then please contact us here.
A New way to donate
Every year we do a house to house collection between 1st December and 23rd December and various static displays around Fareham, Portchester and Gosport.
We collect from house to house between 6:30pm and 8pm during the week and from 4:30pm to 7:30pm on Saturdays. We do not collect on Sundays.
We have authority from either Fareham Borough Council or Gosport Borough Council, depending on our location, to collect.
If you are unsure that the people are genuine please ask to see our authority certificate which is held with Santa.
If, like most of us, you do not have coins or notes to donate then you can always donate using your debit card by visiting Santa who may have the card machine. Or you can donate by making a donation through your banking app to or through one of our fundraising pages:

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic we will be looking at different ways that we can still do this.
We are told, Santa is particularly keen in seeing all the children this year, so please look out for Santa on his sleigh.
Santa endeavours to get around to as many streets as possible during this busy period, but unfortunately sometimes the weather prevents us from getting out and about.
