Food Poverty

Fareham Lions Club Food Poverty

With the increasing cost of living, many families within Fareham, Portchester and Gosport are having to access foodbanks to be able to have food.

One of Lions Clubs International causes is to fight food hunger.

Costs

It costs an average of £15 per week to feed a child and there are approximately 500 children of primary school age and approximately 700 children of secondary school age, who are eligible for free school meals in Fareham and Portchester alone, before we consider Gosport and other people and families.

Project

Fareham Lions are looking to ensure that we are able to provide vouchers via other organisations to ensure those who need help with food can benefit from us.

The Asda Foundation has donated to our cause on a few occasions and helped provide over £2000 in funds.

Please help us to support those in Fareham, Portchester and Gosport who are in need.
